Counselling

This may involve working with an individual, the couple, members of the family or the whole family together.

One of the aims of counselling may be to try to save the marriage where it is under stress or to establish a reconciliation where it has already broken down.

Another aim may be to explore whether there is any basis for continuing with the relationship, and if so what has to happen to make this possible.

Counselling may also help a couple to accept the ending of their relationship if that is appropriate.
